Yal-Ku Lagoon is a shallow body of water, with a max depth of 4 meters. Therefore, it's a safe place to snorkel and is great for beginners. We personally see it as a much safer place to see the local Akumal sea life, compared to swimming in the ocean. In addition to the actual lagoon, the surrounding tropical scenery is a great place to relax.
